Be able to use it in a standard user account

At present, the program will not run within a Win7 standard user account. It just crashes before it launches. I presume that this is part of the same cavalier indifference to users' computer security that leads the maker to ask for firewalls and antivirus to be disconnected at installation time. Or is this a means of allowing the maker to install malware on users' computers at a later time?
